# Schema FAQPage

Reviewed on 2026-10-07.

## What it means

Schema FAQPage is the use of the [Schema.org](/en/resources/glossary/schema-org) FAQPage type to describe a page that presents frequently asked questions and their answers. The structure identifies page content without replacing the text available to readers. The vocabulary exists independently of each search engine’s features: implementing a type does not guarantee that a service will display a special format for it.

## Why it matters for marketing

For marketing, it is important to distinguish the usefulness of the questions from the expectation of gaining more visual space in search. Google states that its FAQ rich results stopped appearing on May 7, 2026. Therefore, keeping this markup requires a current, verifiable purpose rather than promising a visual result that has been removed.

## Example in practice

Imagine a school whose enrollment page gives the current deadline for submitting documents, while its FAQPage markup retains the answer from the previous semester. The team compares the same question in both representations, confirms the current deadline, and corrects the structured answer. It keeps the question useful to the student without suggesting that the correction will bring back the former visual result.

## How to implement or verify

Check that the described questions and answers match the published content and remain valid. Verify the associations, text, and structure with a validator appropriate to the vocabulary. Before setting a search presentation goal, check the service’s current support. Document the markup’s purpose and maintenance, and avoid confusing the absence of a visual result with an error in the content.

## Important distinctions

FAQPage describes a page of frequently asked questions; it is not just any set of answers, nor proof that AI used this information. The removal of Google’s visual feature does not eliminate the Schema.org type. Nor does it show that all systems ignore the markup or that implementation increases citations. Content accuracy, valid representation, and search engine support remain separate considerations.
