# Persona

Reviewed on 2026-10-06.

## What it means

In [AI response](/en/resources/glossary/ai-response) tracking, a persona is the buyer profile and context configured to frame a question. It may include professional role, region, company size, and usage constraints. These elements define the situation being evaluated, making it possible to observe how the same need is addressed for audiences with different requirements.

## Why it matters for marketing

An average that combines all profiles can hide a brand’s absence in precisely the segment the team wants to serve. Separating responses by context helps marketing decide which arguments, pages, and supporting evidence need review. The chosen profile must also match the intended audience, without adding advantages that could sway the response.

## Example in practice

Imagine a refrigeration equipment manufacturer tracking suggestions for food preservation. One configuration describes a bakery with limited space; another, a distribution center operating continuously. If the brand appears only in the second, the team compares the requirements mentioned and checks whether its compact product line is explained on the pages intended for bakeries.

## How to apply or verify

Record the profile’s full text, its version, and the [prompt](/en/resources/glossary/prompt) to which it was added. Keep the platform, language, and collection conditions comparable when evaluating different profiles. Check that the attributes actually made it into the query, and present results by configuration. Validate the relevance of these attributes using business information or customer research.

## Important distinctions

This persona is a context configuration for tracking, not an interviewed person or a verified description of all buyers. The response produced does not demonstrate that audience’s behavior. Also, do not confuse a profile stated in the prompt with automatic platform personalization, which may incorporate history and account conditions that the team does not control.
