# Gemini Notebook

Reviewed on 2026-10-06.

## What it means

[Gemini](/en/resources/glossary/gemini) Notebook is Google's tool for researching and working with information provided as sources for a project. It uses Gemini models to answer questions and synthesize materials. On the official page consulted in October 2026, Google states that NotebookLM was renamed Gemini Notebook in July of that year, with existing notebooks retained.

## Why it matters for marketing

For marketing, choosing sources makes it possible to prepare analyses based on defined documents, such as audience studies, interviews, and product manuals. The team needs to assess the quality and currency of this collection before using a synthesis. An answer based on selected sources may reproduce gaps or inconsistencies in those materials.

## Example in practice

Imagine a team brings together two catalogs from a manufacturer, one from 2024 and another from 2026, in a notebook. When asked which products have an extended warranty, it notices different terms in the sources. The person responsible checks the current document, removes the older version from the working set, and reviews the statement before preparing the campaign.

## How to apply or verify

To verify an answer, check which sources were included, their dates, and the passages that support the conclusion. Test a question whose answer is clearly documented and examine the result. When a URL is provided to the project, Google documents an individual fetch of its content; this does not demonstrate general [indexing](/en/resources/glossary/indexing) of that site.

## Important distinctions

The product, Gemini models, and the [Google-GeminiNotebook](/en/resources/glossary/google-gemininotebook) identifier are different things. The last identifies the client used to fetch URLs provided by users, according to Google's documentation. The official page confirms its continuation as a standalone tool on the web and mobile devices; this statement does not prove that all features are available to every account.
