# Comparison page

Reviewed on 2026-10-07.

## What it means

A comparison page examines identified options using shared criteria. It may compare two products side by side or analyze a group, explaining differences relevant to a decision. The comparison should state what is being compared, the conditions, and the evidence considered. Its value lies in showing how each option meets a defined need.

## Why it matters for marketing

For marketing, this content helps answer questions from buyers who already know some of their options. Organizing verifiable differences reduces reliance on vague claims such as complete or superior. The team can clarify relevant conditions of use, costs, and limitations, as well as acknowledge situations where another option better meets the reader’s stated requirement.

## Example in practice

Imagine a store comparing two chairs for people who work at high desks. One product specification lists the maximum seat height; the other lists the chair’s total height. The team would realize that these figures are not comparable. Before recommending an option, they would need to obtain the seat height of both chairs and relate it to the stated need.

## How to apply or verify

Define the intended use and apply the same criteria to every option. Identify the model, version, measurement conditions, and date of the information. For a chair comparison, check the seat height in the product specifications or documented measurements. Flag any gaps in the evidence. In the conclusion, distinguish your own observations, the manufacturer’s statements, and editorial interpretation.

## Important distinctions

A table makes information easier to scan, but does not by itself make the analysis fair. Comparing different versions without explaining the conditions can lead to an unsuitable choice. Better for a particular use does not mean better for everyone. The page also does not guarantee inclusion in AI answers: clear criteria and evidence support a decision, not a promise of [citation](/en/resources/glossary/ai-citation).
