# Apple Intelligence

Reviewed on 2026-10-06.

## What it means

Apple Intelligence is a set of [artificial intelligence](/en/resources/glossary/artificial-intelligence) features built into Apple systems and apps. It includes writing, image, communication, and assistance features, with requirements that vary by device, software, language, and region. It combines on-device processing with services when needed. To understand an interaction, identify the feature used rather than treating every experience as a single search.

## Why it matters for marketing

For marketing, this distinction makes it possible to assess what was transformed from content that was already open and what was discovered through a query. Revising a text in Mail does not measure brand discovery. A team needs to define which feature is relevant to the analysis before interpreting the result as company exposure to consumers or as support for editorial production.

## Example in practice

Imagine an agency using Writing Tools on a compatible Mac to revise a business invitation. A suggestion changes a phrase that defines the participation requirement. The reviewer compares the versions and restores that requirement before sending. The record assesses an editorial change on the device without presenting the episode as a brand recommendation by search engines.

## How to apply or verify

Before testing, the person in charge should check the official feature list, device model, system version, configured languages, and region. Record which feature was available and the text provided. Review names, dates, and commercial terms in the output. A feature announced for a future update or another language should be identified separately from a feature that was actually used.

## Important distinctions

Apple Intelligence is not equivalent to the [ChatGPT](/en/resources/glossary/chatgpt) extension: the integration is a specific option with its own availability. Siri and features in apps also do not constitute a single search engine. On-device processing and Private Cloud Compute have documented scopes; they do not justify concluding that any external integration follows identical terms or that all processing takes place locally.
