In the described service, customers use the Amazon Shopping app to ask an agent to purchase a product from another brand’s website. The announcement describes a beta test for some users in the United States on iOS and Android.

For retail marketing, the feature calls for distinguishing between exposure in the app, a referred visit, and an order placed through an intermediary. According to Amazon’s description, the external brand remains responsible for delivery, returns, exchanges, and customer service. ## Important distinctions

In October 2026, the public page referenced in the announcement also describes Shop brand sites directly, which redirects customers to the brand’s website. That page alone is not enough to conclude that Buy for Me has been discontinued. The US announcement also does not prove availability in Brazil or that a specific request resulted in a purchase.
