# E-E-A-T Checklist

Reviewed on 2026-10-06.

## Assess the basis for trust without inventing a score

[E-E-A-T](/en/resources/glossary/e-e-a-t) brings together experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust as concepts used to assess quality. Google clarifies that E-E-A-T is not a standalone ranking factor. A score entered by a tool does not prove that a page will be selected or cited.

This resource helps editors, experts and marketing teams assess what the site makes verifiable: who is responsible for the content, what experience supports its claims, where its sources are, and how the company serves customers and corrects information.

## What’s in the spreadsheet

There are 47 consolidated checks. Each specifies a method, acceptance criteria and context for use; assessment fields are left blank. The spreadsheet does not require any business to have academic credentials, a photo, news coverage, awards or a presence on every channel.

- Authorship, profiles, relevant competence, firsthand experience and expert review when needed.
- Facts, references, original contributions, completeness of the response and visual evidence.
- Company identification, contact details, case studies, authentic reviews and reputation in context.
- Editorial policy, corrections, privacy, terms and conditions of sale when applicable.

## How to review a page

Choose content that supports important audience decisions. Read the piece and open its author profile, sources and links to company information. Compare what the page claims with documents and the team’s actual practices.

Record specific evidence: passage, URL, authorized document, date and person consulted. If you can’t confirm a credential, claim or result, mark it Not verified. Don’t fill gaps with imagined biographies, testimonials or authority.

## Apply the criteria in context

For topics that may affect health, finances or safety, check whether review by a qualified person is needed. Identify who reviewed the content and what was actually checked. [Structured data](/en/resources/glossary/structured-data) can describe this relationship when applicable, but it doesn’t replace the process.

Press coverage, reviews and external mentions are evidence that needs context. A Wikipedia page or a personal [Knowledge Graph](/en/resources/glossary/knowledge-graph) panel is not required to demonstrate trust. Reputation should take real problems and responses into account, not just selected positive mentions.

## Turn gaps into verifiable actions

An action might be correcting a fact, explaining a case study’s method, identifying the actual author or fixing a contact channel. Assign an owner and retest the change. Adding schema without a factual basis does not resolve a lack of evidence.

Use the initial priority to discuss risk and usefulness. Update it based on the impact on readers. This checklist organizes human review; it does not calculate an authority score or predict rankings, citations or business outcomes.

## Download and use

The XLSX has one tab for checks and another for instructions, limitations and public sources. Status, evidence, action, owner and retest fields are blank. The resource uses general criteria and does not include observations completed by clients.

The form records the request’s source and delivers the file immediately. Only the email address is required; name and company website are optional.
